Ron Bowell, founding pastor of the CrossRoads Church, is a preacher/writer/musician with roots deep in Kansas soil. Ron grew up on a farm and got into music very early in life. His many years in rock & roll brought with it an alcohol addiction, but he was set free by Jesus in December of 1980. He has been a preaching pastor since 1984, and was called to Salina in 1998 to plant “a church with a difference”. He is also the author of a daily blog called “Friar Tuck’s Word of the Day”, and the author of four books. He and his wife Kerry have been married for fifty years, and have five grown children and fourteen grandchildren.
After years of being a “man of the world,” Pastor Ron Kramer accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior on August 9, 1997. Born in Salina, he left in 1966, not returning for 20 years. During that time, he obtained a B.S. in Psychology and M.S. in Counseling. Over the years, Ron’s been a cook, Marine, social worker, trucking company manager, Army paratrooper and nuclear missile officer, national and international manager, and national corporate safety director. He and his wife, Jane, have been married almost 20 years and have attended CrossRoads Church since 2004. God called Ron to pastoral ministry in 2012 and after completing the Directed Study Program of the Brethren in Christ Church, credentialed by Ashland Theological Seminary, he was ordained as a minister in 2016.
