Pastor-
Jesse Smith

Following a serious motorcycle accident in the Spring of 2004, Jesse Smith began to question the direction his life was moving. After spending much of the previous four years spiraling down the dark hole of addiction, Christ’s light began to dawn in his life. He and his wife, Kimmi, moved home to the Salina area and began attending CrossRoads that same year. During a Leadership Retreat in the Fall of 2014, God placed a call to pastoral ministry on Jesse’s heart. Being an accountant by trade, Jesse did not immediately see how this would be possible for him to answer this call, as he had no formal training to fill the role of Pastor. After finally accepting that this was the direction that God was moving him in, he asked to be mentored by CrossRoads founding Pastor, Ron Bowell, in 2015. After leaving his secular job, Jesse moved into ministry at the Salina Rescue Mission, where he was given the opportunity to develop further as a leader. Pastor Jesse has been progressing through the Directed Study Program of the Brethren in Christ Church since 2017, and became an Associate Pastor at CrossRoads in 2019. As a “native son” of CrossRoads, Pastor Jesse is committed to the church’s mission of reaching out to those that society has given up on and pointing them to a new life in Christ. He and Kimmi have been married for 20 years and have three young children. In their “spare” time, they enjoy spending time outdoors, tending to their garden, or simply sitting on the front porch watching their children play.
